The Banks & Solander Story

Close-up of a metallic, industrial machine or mechanical component with multiple cylindrical parts and black circular openings, mounted under a wooden structure with a brick wall in the background.

The idea of starting a distillery first sparked in 2014 after experimentations with a home still. A trip to Tasmania showed us that this dream wasn’t so far-fetched after all — it was something we could actually do.

From there, the journey began: slowly crafting a distillery from scratch while juggling the chaos (and joy?) of a growing family. After years of late nights and weekend work, we finally opened the doors to our own small distilling space in August 2019 — complete with two modest stills and big hopes.

Today we produce gin, vodka, liqueurs, rum (under our sister brand Solander Rum Co.) and even our own bitters. We're always experimenting and playing with new ingredients and testing flavours to create the next generation of spirits we love to drink and share.
