The Banks & Solander Story

Our Gin

Banks and Solander Signature Gin is a combination of traditional and native Australian botanicals, inspired by the history of Botany Bay and the native plants catalogued by Banks and Solander. It is an aromatic citrus forward full-bodied gin that can be enjoyed straight with a bit of ice or mixed with your favourite ingredients to make fantastic cocktails.

Our Story

The idea of starting a distillery came back in 2014 after experimentations with a home still. A trip to Tasmania made us realise this was something we could do on a slightly larger scale. From then on it has been a journey, building a distillery from scratch in amongst a growing family. After years of working evenings and weekends we now have a space in which we can house our two modest stills and make the drinks we love. We have developed our signature gin, a limoncello and coffee liqueur and are constantly experimenting, finding new ingredients and combining flavours and aromas to create the next generation of drinks.
